Tell us a bit about your background, both work and education. How did you come to find your true passion?

Ali Levine: “Style – all those who have it share one thing: originality.” – Diana Vreeland

My passion for styling shines brightly in more places than I realize. I was born and raised in New York, and credit my love for fashion to a my city upbringing, and also my best friend, my style icon – my grandmother. I was always in love and enamored with fashion since I was quite young. After I completed college with a fashion merchandising and management degree, my career jumpstarted when I accepted a position with Target. The accomplishment was a major responsibility, for me and I learned so much so quickly, one which included opening a flagship NY store and working with international designers, a first for me at the time. After that, I decided to get into designing in the industry for a private label jewelry company called Fragments, famous hand bag company Coach and clothing company Talbots. Once I felt I achieved in-house fashion experience, I decided to make a rapidly successful transition to television and film. I wanted an even more creative spin on fashion and I felt this is where I would find it. This shift eventually led me to make the big move to Hollywood, where my company Ali Levine Design is now headquartered.

“I believe when I made the move, though bold and big, I found my passion. Styling for myself opened up my creative to such a height I was looking for and I love bringing my passion to every client I style,” – Ali

As I say “confidence is your best accessory”. I believe that’s what I give to every client I work with along with a killer look.

“Throughout all of my fashion ventures, I’ve discovered one thing: Confidence is your best accessory.” – Ali Levine

After reading about what it means to us to #StyleYourLife, how do you style your life? How do you customize it and make your life for you?

AL: I love the concept and idea of style your life. I customize my life by doing everything for me and my creative. What I feel fits me. Style your life is about empowering yourself and others, when I style someone I am bringing confidence to them and showing them how to find themselves and their true personality.
Also, by doing what I love, it’s styling my own life. Style is in everything you do, not just fashion.

Can you tell us a bit about what’s in store for your future?

AL: What’s in store for my future? Wow, I feel like I set new goals for myself daily and weekly, bigger ones monthly. Definitely on the daily more exciting clients and styling for magazine and red carpets, my tips showing up in different well known places like CBS this past week. 🙂 I am working on the idea of pursuing my own jewelry line. I love jewelry and where it takes me in my own mind, creative level and how it makes women feel. I hope to get this off the ground soon!

Do you have any tips/tricks to share with aspiring women in business and fellow female leaders?

AL: Tips and tricks, honestly no. Everyone has their own path, their is no “right” way. Build your own path and your own dream. Always be positive about what you’re doing if it’s making you happy and you feel passionate.

“Passion is everything when it comes to your career, especially because it’s yours. You are building it, push for it, make it yours and never stop,” – Ali

What does it mean to be happy, to you? Can you share 5 tips to happiness?

AL: Being happy to me means you are happy with who you are right now. It’s being happy just because you are and happy with where you believe you are going.

Five tips to Happiness, hmmm:

1. Be positive. Positivity is key, for yourself and others around you.
2. Be happy for what you have and not what you’re missing.
3. Find happiness in little things or moments.
4. Create your own, don’t let anyone dictate why you’re happy
5. Most important, find happiness within you.
6.) How would you advise other women to take control of their careers and customize their lives in all aspects? If you want something go for it. Fight for it, don’t let anyone tell you what you can and can not do. Be your own you. Be positive in all aspects of your life, try to keep a a balance.
7.) Tell us what inspired you to create your life as a stylist. What is your purpose behind your company?

Creating my life as a stylist came after I figured out that’s what would make me most happy in my career and even more passionate in fashion then I already was. I want my company to bring confidence to all women I style, happiness, positivity, all good things. The greatest moment in my fittings or at an event is, Ali I love what I’m wearing, I love how I feel. Or, wow, you really gave me that, confidence.

“My job is complete. I hope to continue to bring that in my styling, designing and expertise as I progress in my career. I love that people find me approachable and I want to keep that in my brand and as a stylist,”
